Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite has made it clear that Football League fair play rules mean that the only way vale will stengthen their squad s through increased revenue and the cup offers the club the opportunity to do just that.
Adams told the Sentinel: “We’re at home and we want to do well in the cup competitions this year.
“I’m sure the chairman will want me to put out a strong side and give the cups a real go because it’s all about revenue at this club and it always has been.
“The tie will be difficult for us because Walsall are a good side and they showed that least season. But we’ll be ready for them.”
