Port Vale’s Chris Birchall was an unused substitute as Trinidad and Tobago drew their opening match of the Concacaf Gold Cup tournament.
The Soca Warriors were held to a 2-2 draw by El Salvador at the Red Bull Arena. Trinidad’s goals came from Keon Daniel and Stoke City’s Kenwyn Jones.
Birchall, who is missing Vale’s pre-season tour of Ireland thanks to his International call-up will hope to have a greater involvement in the side’s next game – a tie against Haiti on the 12th July.
