Northampton ‘looking at’ Dickinson
Northampton Town manager Aidie Boothroyd has admitted that he is “looking at” Port Vale trialist Liam Dickinson.
Dickinson was set to join the Valiants last summer only for injury to scupper that move. But Vale have maintained links with the forward who has worked with the Vale squad to return to fitness.
If Vale were interested in Dickinson, it is highly likely that a deal would be done – especially as Vale have stood by the striker over the last twelve months.
Dickinson scored twice in the 9-0 thrashing of Norton United on Friday, but Vale are well-stocked upfront and should the Valiants not pursue their interest in the 27 year-old, it appears that other clubs would be interested.
Boothroyd told the Northampton Chronicle: “Liam is at Port Vale at the moment and I’ve had no direct contact with him yet.
“He is a free agent and he’s one of a few players that we are looking at.”
