Newcastle Town 0-4 Port Vale
New boy Gavin Tomlin made it three goals in two games as Vale coasted to a 4-0 win over Newcastle Town on Sunday afternoon. Following Vale’s 9-0 win over Norton on Friday, it meant Micky Adams’ free-scoring side had scored 13 goals over the weekend.
Vale’s new signing Chris Lines was named in the first-half line-up after completing his move on Saturday. The Valiants then took an early lead through Pope before Dodds doubled the score on 15 mins.
Pope then hit the post as Vale looked to add to their lead but at the interval it remained 2-0 to the visitors.
Vale made their customary half-time changes and Gavin Tomlin duly made it 3-1 on 51 minutes. And Tomlin doubled his account minutes later as his cross shot went in.
