Dickinson departs Vale Park
Port Vale have confirmed that Liam Dickinson will not be joining the Valiants and that the striker has left the club.
Dickinson was set to join the Valiants last summer only for injury to scupper that move. But Vale had maintained links with the forward who has worked with the Vale squad to return to fitness.
However, Dickinson did not feature in any of the club’s last three friendly games and manager Micky Adams told the Sentinel: “Our interest in Liam Dickinson is now finished.
“He has ongoing problems with his ankle and that’s not to say he’s not fit and raring to go.
“But, from a medical and financial point of view, we have decided not to pursue our interest in him.
“We wish him well because he’s been great.”
Northampton Town had expressed interest in Dickinson earlier in the summer and would now be contenders to sign the striker.
