Weir set to beat Page to Blades post
Port Vale coach Rob Page looks set to miss out on the Sheffield United manager’s job according to local Sheffield newspaper, the Sheffield Star.
According to the Star, barring a “last minute change of heart” the Blades are set to appoint Everton coach David Weir as their new manager and the former Scottish International could be unveiled as soon as Tuesday.
Page, who has impressed with his coaching work at Vale Park, was amongst the front-runners for the role.
While this news will be a boost to the Valiants, it remains to be seen how long the club can hold onto Page who reportedly come close to being appointed at Wimbledon the previous season.
