Record-holder Birchall earns 23rd cap
Port Vale’s most capped player, Chris Birchall earned his 23rd cap while a Vale player after playing the full ninety minutes of Trinidad and Tobago’s friendly with Belize.
The 28 year-old Birchall making his first International appearance of his second spell with the Vale started the 0-0 draw at the FPP Stadium.
The midfielder is also set to feaure in T&T’s second friendly which takes place on Tuesday evening against Peru. Should Birchall impress he will come into contention for T&T’s Concacaf Gold Cup which takes place in the summer.
It has been a good couple of weeks for Birchall who earned his International recall and has forced his way into the Vale starting eleven in recent games.

28 year-old Chris Birchall is the club’s most capped player. The midfielder has been picked on 23 occasions by Trinidad and Tobago. It includes games in the World Cup finals making Birchall the only Vale player to appear in a World Cup while contracted to the club.
