Direct talking from Mark Grew
Assistant manager Mark Grew that the state of the Vale Park pitch may influence the side’s style of play as they prepare for two crucial home games.
We’re not going to totally change the system, but we might decide to play a more percentage game…
Grew told the Sentinel: “We’re looking at the possibility of playing more direct.
“We’ve been having problems at home, particularly when teams play three in the middle against our two, and results obviously haven’t gone for us in the last few games at Vale Park.
“We’re not going to totally change the system, but we might decide to play a more percentage game.
“If we have loads of rain, the pitch becomes very difficult to play on.
“If it gets really muddy again, that might force the issue.
“We want to get balls into the box as early as possible and play in the opposition’s third of the pitch.”
