Burge included in squad to face York
Midfielder Ryan Burge has been included in the Vale squad to face York City after manager Micky Adams confirmed that any potential disciplinary action won’t take place until next week.
I wouldn’t want to cut my nose off to spite my face and he’ll be in the squad for York…
Burge was heavily criticised by manager Micky Adams for being late for a team meal and the midfielder got into even more hot water with a string of tweets apparently contradicting the club’s view of events.
Burge was dropped from the side to face Bristol Rovers and Adams confirmed that the player would face disciplinary action.
Adams told the Sentinel that: “I haven’t spoken to him yet because we’ve got another game coming around so quickly.
“We’ve got a free week next week and I’ll sit down with him then.
“Ryan has had a good season and everyone can see that.
“But there are ways and means of critcising anybody and we have a policy at this club that they don’t criticise the team, individuals or anyone connected with the club through Twitter.
“In the cold light of day, Ryan would understand why we are disappointed with him.
“But I wouldn’t want to cut my nose off to spite my face and he’ll be in the squad for York.”
