OVF pays respects to former Chairman
The funeral of former Port Vale chairman Bill Bell took place in Burslem on Wednesday and as a mark of respect OVF has made a donation to a cancer research charity.
Bell was the Port Vale chairman for 15 years and has been widely credited with the redevelopment of the Vale Park stadium.
He died on February 12, aged 81 after a battle with cancer.
Port Vale FC paid tribute to the club’s former owner with a minute’s silence, wearing black armbands, leaving the chairman’s seat vacant and flying flags at half-mast. The Port Vale supporters club held a minute’s applause at their last meeting.
Assistant manager Mark Grew and coach Dean Glover also attended the funeral to represent the club.
Mourners were asked at the funeral to make a donation to Cancer Research UK and as a mark of respect to our former chairman and his family, OVF has made an online donation to the charity.
