Wimbledon ‘confident’ that Vale game is on
AFC Wimbledon Chief Executive Erik Samuelson has expressed renewed confidence that Thursday’s televised game against Port Vale will take place.
We have to be confident that we will be playing tomorrow night…
The game was in doubt due to the bad weather conditions but a group of dedicated Dons fans helped clear snow from the Kingsmeadow pitch on Wednesday.
Samuelson told the official AFC Wimbledon website: “It has been an absolutely fantastic effort. The pitch is now nearly clear. Though it is a bit soft in places, we have to be confident that we will be playing tomorrow night.”
Ironically, Vale’s home game against Wimbledon in December was the victim of more bad weather and failed a pitch inspection.

Your official web site has out of date information about the Kings Meadow ground. There is now only terracing along 2 sides of the ground. The Kingston Road end is now all seater and PV fans will not be allocated this syand. However there are some seats in this stand allocated to away fans i.e. the block nearest the terrace in the old ‘John Smiths’ stand where most away fans are housed with a poor view of the game unfortunately. Hard to see what could cause this game to be called off now. I was there shifting snow this morning and its clearly playable now though not in the best condition. Could be a bit agricultural tomorrow night
