Wimbledon battle to keep Vale game on
Port Vale’s next opponents, AFC Wimbledon, are appealing to their supporters to help clear the pitch of snow as they attempt to avoid Thursday’s televised clash being postponed.
Vale’s home game against Bradford City on Saturday was postponed due to a frozen pitch and the Valiants will be keen to avoid another cancellation.
According to the official AFC Wimbledon website “although there are currently two or three inches of snow lying on , most areas underneath the surface are still soft.”
The League Two side say they “need supporters to volunteer their efforts and clear snow from the pitch and areas surrounding the Cherry Red Records Stadium” and that these efforts may “help us get the game on.”
If the game does go ahead it will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
