Two minute guide to: Dagenham
Vale travel to Dagenham’s Victoria Road stadium on Saturday and here is our brief guide to the Valiants’ next opponents.
Essentials
- Competition: League Two.
- Venue: Victoria Road
- Date: Saturday, 29 December
- Kick-off: 15:00 GMT
Man in charge
The long-serving and well-regarded John Still has been in charge since 2004, steering the Daggers into the league
in the process. In this spell, he has managed Dagenham for 443 games, winning 167, losing 177 and drawing 99. This
is actually his second spell as Dagger boss, having been in charge for 1992 to 1994 previously.
Last time we met
The two sides fought out a 1-1 draw in October. Jennison Myrie-Williams (right) levelled for Vale after Chris Neal, clearly shaken after a poor challenge had led to a lengthy break in play let the ball slip between his legs for the opener.
Overall record
The two sides have met seven times and it is dead-level. Both sides have two wins and there have been three draws.
Vale are unbeaten in three trips to Victoria Road with two draws and a win.
Featured connection
Vale skipper Doug Loft (right) will be making a return to a club where he spent an eleven game spell on loan in 2009. Loft told the Sentinel that “I was only there for a few games, but it was good” before predicting a difficult game.
Other connections
Other players to appear for both sides include Exodus Geoghaghan and Damien McCrory.
Team news
Micky Adams could bring Ashley Vincent (right) back into the squad after illness but following the good away win over Rotherham, it not a certainty that Vincent will be in the starting eleven.
John Still has a fully fit squad but is considering changes after defeat on Boxing Day.
Pre-match quote
“I’ve not had an easy game yet in League Two and I’m certainly not expecting one at Dagenham.”
– Micky Adams
