Fox family “overwhelmed” after receiving OVF tribute booklet
Steve Fox’s family have thanked Port Vale supporters after they received a booklet containing Vale fans’ tributes to the former winger.
Every comment posted on OVF has now been passed on to the family so that they have a permanent reminder of Steve’s Vale Park legacy…
Fox made 82 Vale appearances between 1982 and 1984 and lost his battle against cancer earlier this month. His funeral was held on Thursday.
onevalefan.co.uk (OVF) editor Rob Fielding compiled the booklet using fans’ comments placed on the OVF website. The booklet also contained a four page tribute to Fox written by Fielding and a number of images of Steve Fox in Vale colours.
Fielding commented: “We had so many comments on Steve’s passing that I wanted to make sure the family knew the depth of feeling from Vale fans. Every comment posted on OVF has now been passed on to the family so that they have a permanent reminder of Steve’s Vale Park legacy.”
The booklet arrived in time for the former Vale star’s funeral and OVF has been asked by members of the Fox family to pass on their thanks to all the Vale fans for their kind words.
According to a family member, the Fox family were “overwhelmed” with the booklet which was passed around for mourners at the funeral to read. The family have now ordered some extra copies of the booklet to pass on to their relatives.
