Dagenham 2-3 Port Vale
Dagenham 2-3 Port Vale: first-half goals from Tom Pope, Jennison Myrie-Williams and Louis Dodds sent Vale to the top of the League Two table after an away win over Dagenham.
Port Vale manager Micky Adams made one change to the starting eleven that defeated Rotherham United with Calvin Andrew replacing the injured Doug Loft.
And visitors Port Vale got off to a dream start when goals from the prolific striker Tom Pope and winger Jennison Myrie-Williams made it 2-0 after just nine minutes. Dagenham pulled one back on 16 minutes, but the points already looked secure on 39 minutes when a lob from the in-form Louis Dodds made it 3-1 to the visitors at the interval.
It looked a certain three points to Vale. But rather than a comfortable away victory, Port Vale had to survive a tense closing period after Dagenham pulled a goal back with four minutes to go.
However, despite that late pressure from the home side, Micky Adams’ side held on for a win that takes them to the top of the League Two table.
