Dear Steve… I was so sorry to hear that you are struggling at the moment, but I wanted to wish you all the best in your battle. I send the best wishes of my family and I to you and yours.
Ha….. family, that includes my son Kevin, who is 29 now… he was due in April 1983, on the Friday that the Vale were away at Tranmere….. and where was I? like a good husband at my wife’s side? ha, no chance! I was at Tranmere watching you lads win 2-0, it’s a good job he was a week late, or you would have been responsible for me missing my firstborn’s birth!! You are remembered with fondness.
All the best mate… keep fighting
    Dave

Steve was a real hero of mine. Part of the first vale side I ever watched that won promotion. Seem to remember a great goal that he scored at Tranmere near the end of the 1982/83 season. Fantastic memories !
Great times, never to be forgotten
    In my thoughts

Never thought we’d find a winger good enough to replace Mark Chamberlain when he left, but we did and then some when Steve arrived. That promotion team was the most exciting Vale team I’ve ever watched and Steve was the diamond in the crown.
Keep fighting, keep shining and never give up hope. You’ll never be forgotten by Vale fans who saw you.
