Vale duo on League Two awards shortlist
Manager Micky Adams and striker Tom Pope have been shortlisted for the nPower League Two manager and player of the month awards, respectively.
Adams will battle John Coleman (Rochdale) and Paul Sturrock (Southend United) for the managerial award. Adams has guided Vale to 13 out of a possible 18 points this month.
Meanwhile, Pope’s rivals are Britt Assombalonga (Southend United) and Andrew Tutte (Rochdale). Pope, League Two’s top scorer, has netted seven times during the month of September.
The Manager of the Month award is decided by former manager Alan Curbishley, the Football League’s Andy Williamson, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Sponsorship Manager Emma Collins.
The Player of the Month panel sees Emma Collins joined by former player Don Goodman, BBC Sport’s Mark Clemmit and The Football League’s Head of Communications, John Nagle.
The winners will be announced on Friday 12th October 2012
Meanwhile, winger Jennison Myrie-Williams has been named as the League Two player of the week by charity sponsors Prostate Cancer UK.
