Port Vale 1-1 Dagenham
Port Vale 1-1 Dagenham: Jennison Myrie-Williams’ 75th minute equaliser earned a stuttering Port Vale side a share of the points at home to Dagenham.
Port Vale FC manager Micky Adams had made one change, bringing Sam Morsy into the side at the expense of Rob Taylor, who dropped to the bench.
The two teams were lead out by returning RAF duo Steve Buffey and Pete Blakeman who received a rousing reception from the 4,355 present. There was also a collection around the Vale Park stadium in aid of Help for Heroes.
But the battling Daggers frustrated Port Vale early on and the game was goalless at half-time after chances were at a premium.
The visitors had taken the lead on 72 minutes when the otherwise immaculate Chris Neal was unable to stop Luke Howell’s shot entering the net.
However, Port Vale equalised when Myrie-Williams’ effort went in following Vale pressure.
Despite that goal, Port Vale were unable to put the visitors under sustained pressure and eventually had to settle for a disappointing home draw.
