Exeter City 0-2 Port Vale
Exeter City 0-2 Port Vale: The prolific Tom Pope reached eleven goals for the season as the Vale produced another good away performance with a 2-0 win over Exeter.
Port Vale manager Micky Adams made one change to the Valiants starting line-up with Rob Taylor returning at left-back to make his 100th start for the club. Captain Doug Loft moved into midfield to partner Sam Morsy and Richard Duffy lined-up against his former club.
The home side had a chance ruled out for offside and almost immediately Sam Morsy had a good chance for the Valiants.
But striker Pope found the target with a header on 40 minutes as Vale took a 1-0 lead into the interval.
And the big targetman doubled his tally on the hour mark with a headed second to put the Valiants 2-0 ahead. It was enough to secure the win.
It was another excellent away result for the Vale who consolidated their second place in the League Two table. Promotion is a real possibility for Micky Adams’ side this season.
