Burge return hands Adams a selection bonus
Port Vale have been boosted ahead of the clash with Burton Albion with the news that midfielder Ryan Burge and defender Adam Yates are both fit and eligible for selection.
Burge looked to have sustained a serious knee injury during the win over Oxford but the 24 year-old has returned to action sooner than expected after a scan.
Yates dropped out of the squad for the game against Wycombe but is now expected to make the bench for the Burton game.
Micky Adams’ main selection dilema would be who to pick in central midfield.
Sam Morsy is back from suspension and the youngster may return to the starting line-up in place of Darren Murphy. Murphy was making his full debut after an injury-delayed start to his Vale career and another league game just three days later may be too much for the Irishman. Murphy could therefore drop to the bench for Tuesday’s game.
Burge’s return probably means he is battling Chris Shuker for the second central midfield spot.
