Adams: rest will benefit Valiants
Manager Micky Adams believes a free week will help Port Vale recover from their defeat to Northampton Town and prepare them for an FA Cup tie against Forest Green Rovers.
We’ll lick our wounds after losing at Northampton and we’ll be ready…
Vale’s trip to Northampton on Saturday was not a happy one with the match overshadowed by an awful injury to Alex Nicholls. Vale skipper John McCombe was sent-off for the tackle that led to the injury while defenders Gareth Owen and Joe Davis picked up injuries.
However, with no midweek game, Adams thinks the rest will do his players good.
“We’ve got a free week ahead, so we’ll get in a bit of rest and recuperation,” Adams told the Sentinel.
