Plymouth suffer injury crisis ahead of Vale game
Five Plymouth Argyle first-team players are injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s League Two clash with the Valiants.
Three strikers Nick Chadwick, Rhys Griffiths (both calf) and Paris Cowan-Hall (hamstring) missed Argyle’s last game against Torquay and Argyle’s injury crisis has lead to manager Carl Fletcher bringing in former Valiant Guy Madjo on loan.
Madjo who played for Vale on loan last season could start up front against his former club alongside fellow loanee Alex McDonald.
Meanwhile, captain Darren Purse and midfielder Paul Wooton played against Torquay despite not being fully match-fit.
Manager Fletcher told the Plymouth Herald: “We are trying to look into every little detail to make sure we get everyone fit and available for selection.
“Pursey has had little injuries the last few weeks and Wots played through the pain barrier on Saturday.
“We will try to get them back as quickly as possible.
“That’s why we got Guy in, to come in and take a bit of pressure off the injured ones, so it’s not a case of we are forcing them back too quickly.”
