“It feels like I’ve been to the sweet shop and nicked a few sweets”
Port Vale manager Micky Adams conceded that the Valiants rode their luck against Bradford and that the Vale “had a bit of fortune” with the winning goal. He also paid tribute to goalscorer Tom Pope and keeper Chris Neal.
To come away with a 1-0 win feels like I’ve been to the sweet shop and nicked a few sweets, to be honest
Adams told the media: “We’ve got a welcome three points whether we deserved the win today will prob be debatable.
“But to a man they stood their ground and they managed to get the three points.
“This is a tough place to come. They caused us numerous problems and at times, we rode our luck and at times we shown what good defenders we are.
“We’ve had a bit of fortune (for the goal) Tom is on a rich vein of form and stuck it away.
“Let’s not take anything away from Bradford they were excellent today and to come away with a 1-0 win feels like I’ve been to the sweet shop and nicked a few sweets, to be honest.
“Chris Neal was tremendous today and I’d also thank the support who were tremendous too. That was for them.”
