Collins goes on loan to Shrewsbury
Former Port Vale defender Lee Collins has moved on a month’s loan to Shrewsbury Town.
Collins scored four goals in 142 appearances for the Valiants before he was controversially loaned to Barnsley as the club slipped into administration.
The move was explained as a “cost-cutting” measure to reduce the club’s wage bill and Collins subsequently joined the Tykes on a permanent basis in the summer.
Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner said: “He’s a player I know well, having played 16 games for me when Hereford got promotion to the second divison. Then he had a successful few years at Port Vale before Barnsley bought him.
