Administrator Bob Young has told the Sentinel newspaper that the club are in “advanced talks” with “three definite front-runners” bidding to takeover the club. Young also added that he was confident of “a deal progressing within a month.”
I’m confident of a deal progressing within a month
Earlier this month, the club’s administrators Begsbies-Traynor said that seven parties had expressed an interest in taking over the club. But of those seven, Young has indicated that three are leading contenders to become the new Port Vale owners.
Speaking to the Sentinel, Young said: “We are making significant progress. While we do have others in the wings, there are now three definite front-runners. I’m confident of a deal progressing within a month.”
Young continued: “It’s about making sure things are right and it’s about who has the money both to pay for the club and to take it forward. Things are progressing well.”
