Port Vale hold 'positive' talks with striker
Fotball agent (and Vale legend) Phil Sproson has told the Sentinel that Port Vale are interested in signing striker Liam Dickinson. Sproson claims that Vale’s talks with the forward were “positive” and that “Vale are right up there in his thoughts.”
Dickinson is a free agent since being released by Southend United in the summer and has been linked with a League One and another League Two team.
Sproson told the newspaper: Nothing has been sorted out yet, but Micky is interested. Obviously it is up to Liam, but I would say it’s looking positive for Port Vale.
“Micky was very impressive with him when we met the other day. He explained his hopes for the season and plans for the club.
“The delay of Keith Ryder’s takeover has complicated the situation, and there is not yet a firm offer on the table from the club. But we know where we are with the figures as far as Vale are concerned and there is no issue there.
“Liam will think it over carefully, probably over the weekend, but Vale are right up there in his thoughts.”
