Adams: "players have given everything they could have…"
Micky Adams has praised the contribution of his players “only for circumstances to conspire against us” and thwart the club’s play-off ambitions.
Adams told the Sentinel newspaper: “The players have given everything they could have this season, only for circumstances to conspire against us.
“But I maintain there is already enough potential around our squad for us to be better next year.
“I know season tickets are already going well, but I hope even more supporters will join up and back us.
“Normally, there is another game a week later, but not after today, so we want to make sure everyone feels positive heading into the summer.
“We want to go into the close season feeling half-decent about ourselves and give fans that feeling too.”
