Adams slams ‘unacceptable’ performance
Port Vale manager Micky Adams has said that the players’ performance during the 1-0 home defeat to Dagenham was “unacceptable.”
Adams said: “One team had something to play for and one team probably didn’t and I think that showed. I was disappointed with the application and commitment of my players. We never really got going and the performance was unacceptable.
“Our club’s problems have been well documented, but that is no excuse for players not giving their all when they go out onto the pitch. I would say 95 per cent of them were off the pace.
“Some of them think they are on their holidays already, but I’m not going to allow that mindset to continue. They are all playing for something because there are contracts to earn either here or elsewhere.
“To some extent I feel as though we’ve been mugged, but full credit to Dagenham for grinding out a 1-0 win.”
