Adams: We're not good enough to beat top sides
Port Vale manager Micky Adams said his side are not good enough to cope with the top sides in League Two afer his Valiants side were hammered 5-0 by League Two champions Swindon Town.
Adams told the official Port Vale website: “I can’t keep saying it – they have good players and they are a million miles away from us.
“What it does is highlight what I need to do and I think to get top three, we fell short. The better sides are better than us. I think we can compete with anybody else, other than the top three.
“Whilst it is disappointing, we thank our fans for turning up today but we couldn’t live with them in the second half.
“I thought that in the first half, we played particularly well. That was as good as we have played all season, we handled the ball well and prevented them from creating loads of chances – the crowd were quiet until the wonder goal. The boy hit a top corner and we can’t legislate for that.”

With all due respect to Port Vale you played well for the first 20 minutes but our players were nervy in the first 20 minutes but after that we tore you apart.
With all due respect to MA we could have had 7 or 8 and in the second half we were camped in your half. Not blowing our own trumpet but we have been by far the best footballing side in this league and all the talk of we had the biggest budget is all make believe.
All our players have been free transfers apart from 3 who cost a combined 250k so all the rubbish of biggest budget is just managers and fans from other clubs believing that is true.
We have succeeded because Di Canio has put a strict training regime in to place and set high standards for the players and any player that didnt like it was shipped out, as for us fans who had to witness the players from last season on big wages and not giving a toss about the club this season has been a great time to enjoy after relegation last season.
I was disappointed with the amount of Vale fans at the game and all the rubbish about we charge £25 IS expensive well we are £4 more expensive than most teams in this league which makes me laugh as you see fans before games knocking back as much booze as they can and dont think twice about how much they spend on drink.
Good luck to Vale next season as i thought you may have been one of the sides challenging this season and probably would have if administration hadnt hit you.
we were deservedly champions by playing football not hoofball like most teams in L2 and im glad we have got out of this dreadful poor league.
