I’m keeping an open mind on bids
In his latest opinion piece, OVF founder Rob Fielding says that while Mo Chaudry’s interest in the club should be welcomed, he will still be keeping an open mind on which bid is best for the club.
Fielding says he feels that it is too early and too narrow-minded to go with the “it’s Mo or nothing” view

I’m keeping an open mind on bids
It’s been a while since I gave my views on events at Vale Park, so I’d like to start by showing my appreciation to the groups and individuals who have finally forced the board out of Port Vale FC. You have my deepest respect for your unstinting efforts.
Yes, we are in administration and times are still worrying, but following the news of up to six interested bidders, the uniting of the fanbase and the way the administrators are running the club, I am optimistic we will actually come out of administration both stronger and better.
With that in mind, I wanted to share my views on the bids to take over Port Vale. For me, it is too early and too narrow-minded to go with the “it’s Mo or nothing” view. I think Mo Chaudry will bring many qualities to the club, but when we looked at the summer bid the contrast between Mo and the then board was so great, that I think there is a tendency to overate Mo’s bid and to feel he is the club’s only saviour.
Well, to coin a phrase, he’s not the Messiah, he’s just one of six (or even more) potential bidders.
I have a lot of admiration for what Mo Chaudry has achieved, and what he could bring to the club. Don’t get me wrong, if he offers the right deal I think he can bring a huge amount to the club and I would welcome him with open arms.
But I still think we need to keep an open mind. There are other bidders (naturally some could be bad and some may be good) but I think it is crucial that all are considered and the best one picked.
So for me it’s not “Go with Mo”
It’s “Go with Mo, if he offers the best deal”
