Adams: I’m here to stay
Port Vale manager Micky Adams has moved to reassure fans that he is not seeking to engineer a move away from the club.
Adams’ post-match remarks caused media speculation that the manager was upset with the administration of the club after he told reporters that: “I’m taking legal advice, and we’ll see where we go next week.”
This was Adams’ response to questions regarding the playing staff’s wages and there was speculation that Adams felt badly let-down by administrator Bob Young because Adams believed the club’s administrators would pay player soon after administration was settled.
However, the Sentinel claims that Adams was told by a former Vale director the squad would receive their money once the club was in administration – a message he passed on to his players.
Adams does not blame Young for the mix-up and told the Sentinel: “But as far as I’m concerned, it’s all systems go and business as usual. I’ve never said I’m looking to leave the club.
“There are certain issues that need to be addressed, so I’ll sit down with Bob and we’ll work together to try to help the club as best we can.”
