Port Vale Supporters Club statement January 17, 2011
Port Vale Supporters’ Club (PVSC) is inviting expressions of interest from anyone wishing to putting themselves forward for consideration for an interim board at the Vale.
PVSC is currently in the process of calling an EGM with the aim of removing discredited directors Peter Miller, Glenn Oliver, Mike Lloyd and Perry Deakin in the wake of numerous revelations showing that they have lied to, misled and manipulated Vale fans, shareholders and employees.
An interim board would need to be elected at the same EGM to allow the club to continue to function.
Its remit would be to assess all aspects of the running of the club including Vale’s financial viability in the wake of the board’s failure to deliver a promised multi-million pound investment and the recent careless mortgaging of Vale Park.
The interim board would then decide on the best course of action to secure the club’s long-term future.
Supporters’ Club Chairman Pete Williams said: “We already know of a number of individuals who are keen to be involved in an interim board at Port Vale.
“However, we want to invite applications from anyone who believes they have the credentials, passion and time to become a director and act in the best interests of Port Vale via appointment to an interim board.
“A shortlist will then be advertised to the wider fanbase.”
Anyone interested in being considered for an interim board position or who wants to know more about the role should contact Mr Williams by 5pm on Monday (January 23) on 07522 679886.
In addition, all fans are invited to the next public meeting of the Supporters’ Club which will take place on Tuesday night (January 24) at 7.30pm at Smallthorne Victory Workingmen’s Club.
NB: The Supporters’ Club would like to thank fans’ groups Black & Gold, North London Valiants and Starve ‘Em Out for their continued assistance. We stand united at this dark hour against a common enemy who have brought our club into disrepute through their actions.
Thanks to you all for showing you care.
The SC would also like to take this opportunity to wish Micky and the lads all the best for Saturday’s trip to Rotherham.
Up the Vale!
