Bristol Rovers 0-3 Port Vale
Sean Rigg netted against his former club as the Valiants bounced back from their home defeat to Morecambe with a fine 3-0 away win over Bristol Rovers.
Micky Adams made two changes to the team that was thrashed by Morecambe with Clayton McDonald and Adam Yates replacing John McCombe and Rob Kozluk. Gary Roberts returned to the Vale bench as Sean Rigg faced his former club.
After an uneventful start, Marc Richards gave Vale the lead twenty minutes into the game. It was the Vale skipper’s fifth of the season and the sixty third goal of his Vale career.
Ten minutes later, Vale made it 2-0 when Doug Loft ended a seven goal drought to net his fifth goal of the season.
And Vale wrapped up a fine away win with Rigg’s fifth goal of the season in the 85th minute.
