Port Vale reveal £170,000 Aston Villa gate receipts
The Valiants estimate that the club netted around £170,000 in Villa Park gate receipts.
Martin Foyle’s side were the first Vale side to reach the fourth round in ten years and 7,500 Vale travelled to see the fourth round tie against Premiership side Aston Villa.
Although the Valiants lost 3-1, the cup run in total is estimated to have earned the club around £250,000 in much needed revenue.
Chairman Bill Bratt (pictured right) sensibly said that the majority of cash generated will be spent on easing the club’s debt, but a small amount will be made available to manager Martin Foyle.||
