Port Vale sign Jason Talbot
Martin Foyle has arranged his latest signing of the January transfer window.
Vale have taken over the contract of young left-back Jason Talbot on loan from League Two outfit Mansfield Town.
The 20 year-old has joined the Valiants until the end of the season with the possibility of a permanent move in the summer.
Martin Foyle revealed that the youngster had impressed him during a couple of trial appearances for the Vale reserves. Foyle told the official Port Vale website that he believed the player had “potential.”
Rough Guide to Jason Talbot:
A young left-sided defender who began his career at Bolton Wanderers before loan spells at Derby County and Mansfield Town.
Talbot signed a one year deal at Mansfield at the start of the season but the Valiants have now taken that deal over.
He has faced a battle with Gareth Jelleyman at Field Mill for the left-back berth and is likely to face a similar battle with Craig James at Vale Park.
The youngster will replace Mickey Bell who moved to Cheltenham Town in January.
