Fortune set to stay (but only on loan)
The Bristol City official website claims that Clayton Fortune could extend his loan spell but will not join Vale on a permanent deal.
Bristol City manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: “Port Vale have offfered to keep Clayton, but he does not want to go on a permanent basis.
“The situation is complicated by the fact that he is expected to be out for three or four weeks with the hamstring problem, but I am hoping something will be resolved later today.
“It seems most likely that the loan will be extended until the end of the season.”
After a shaky start, Fortune has impressed in recent matches and could be seen as a natural successor to departed club captain Sam Collins.
The 23 year-old is out of contract at the end of the season.||
