Tony Naylor rejoins Port Vale
The Valiants have reportedly missed out on moves for former Crewe defender Efe Sodje and Aston Villa youngster Kyle Nix but have re-signed Tony Naylor.
Sodje was offered to the Valiants by Huddersfield Town boss Peter Jackson but the deal was turned down by Vale as they could not afford his wages.
Sodje has opted to join Yeovil Town on trial and is expected to sign a two year deal which will end Vale’s interest in the 33 year-old.
Meanwhile, Villa youngster Kyle Nix has been training with Vale and is expected to be released by Aston Villa.
However, it is unlikely that any Vale move for the left-sided player will take place before the summer closed season.
Martin Foyle has also confirmed that veteran striker Tony Naylor was signed on a short-term deal before the match with Walsall as Vale were struggling with numbers for the game.
The former Vale hero had been training with the club and Foyle insists that current players wanted a contract to be offered to the veteran striker.||
