Dave Hibbert on the mend
Vale supporters will be relieved to hear that striker Dave Hibbert is on the recovery trail following his horrendous injury in the match against MK Dons.
Hibbert came on as a sub in the match but went down following an aerial collision that appeared to be a clash of heads with a MK Dons defender.
The big striker lay prone on the ground and received some seven minutes of treatment before leaving the pitch on a stretcher, with a neck brace and an oxygen mask.
Shortly after the match, Hibbert was airlifted to Stoke Mandeville hospital for a full check-up.
However, the official Port Vale website now reports that Hibbert has suffered no lasting damage although he is still suffering from headaches and will not feature in the Vale side for some time as a precaution.
This website’s very best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Dave and his family.
