  1. The majority of Port Vale supporters should feel proud this season in the way they have superbly supported the club. Supporters have lived up to the name of 'VALIANT ' while sadly the team haven't been able to. Loyal fans have been put through the mill this season, but still came along to cheer and support and spend their money on Port Vale FC.

I can count on one hand the good matches we have witnessed this season, mainly in December. Chizzys late winner in the 3-2  win over Wigan; best game and goal of the season.  I can't remember so many home capitulation for a long time. One home win in 2024 for us, has left many fans traumatised and disbelieving. We can only hope for better things next season and that the players can play for that VALIANT shirt and show us some passion. We'll done Vale fans, at least Nathan Smith has acknowledged that you have been tremendous, even though let down

Just got back home after driving back to Somerset. Haven't read the thread but I will give my opinion of what I saw today. First half well worth the 2 goal lead without playing particularly well but didn't have to because Exeter were toothless in attack and Vale were on the front foot. Second half started and alarm bells started to ring straight away. In their first attack Exeter almost scored but were only denied a goal by Ripley pulling off a fine reflex save. From the on it was very much one way traffic towards the Vale goal. Vale seemed to sit back and try to protect their lead with the almost inevitable consequence of conceeeding goals. We got battered second half with weakness at full back being exploited ruthlessly. Their keeper had nothing to do second half, Vale's only shot hitting the Hamil Rd stand roof

And what genius tactical plan did the manager come up with. He took Uche off and replaced him with Jensen Weir. So up front we had no physical presence to occupy the Exeter central defenders. Today we witnessed the recruitment shortcomings of this season. Exeter playing poorly made substitutions that altered the course of the game and improved significantly. Vale had nobody on the bench that was capable of turning the game back in our favour. Relegation now beckons and it will be deserved on that performance and many others this season.

Yes a good summing up! A tired Uche was surely worth keeping on longer, tiring yes , but he geed  up the crowd . Dreadful second half performance and Port Vale fans deserve a lot better than that capitulation.  Tremendous fans  supporting them in the first half, but they couldn't repay us in the second half.  We've done our part and would like a committeed performance for 90 minutes. Great goal from chizzy and some good first half movement, but football is a 90 minute game unfortunately

Posted by Rob on the front page but no forum topic as far as I can see.

I would imagine that's him done at the Vale now unfortunately, despite the "but I’ll keep working and hope to see you all next season". Maybe a PAYP contract if we do get relegated as he's a class above at that level but his injury record is awful.

My favourite player and played an enormous and vital part in getting us to league 2. Has generally been a joy to watch for skill factor and vision. One of the most technically gifted players ever at Port Vale and I've been going for over 50 years! I know he hasn't been able to make such an impact recently, but I would keep him on another short term contract

Liam Brazier young Vale talent on the radar of "Spanish Giants Barcelona", it might well be " pie in the sky", but the information has surfaced from somewhere.

Whatever speculation there is surely to a certain degree is good news for the club in general. Can never remember a season like this for so much young talent coming off the Vale Academy production line and integrated into the first team squad.

Also this season bringing in " Premier League Young Talents", Olly Arblaster and Alfie Devine who today made his Championship debut for Plymouth Argyle and had an assist in one of Plymouth's goals.

Vale have know brought in Jensen Weir from Brighton, who was very productive last season at Morecambe. Now young centre back Rhys Williams from Liverpool and a possibility of another talented young starlet Dan Gore midfield player from Manchester United.

I think it is amazing that a club such as PORT VALE can attract young talent that want to learn their footballing trade at Vale and fair play to Andy Crosby. He may well not be everyone's cup of tea. But full admiration to him for giving youth chance and introducing Premier League Starlets of the future to " The Wembley of The North at Vale Park".

The right decision on Willo for me. In all honesty even if we get say 10 games of him that gives us more chance of points than being stuck with Loft for all the remaining ones. He’s looked sharp when he’s been on the pitch so just got to hope he can be a bit more lucky now.

Let's hope so! Superb player.  Fingers crossed he can stay injury free for a while.  Delighted he has signed for the rest.of the  season

  6. The minimum you would expect is your team to show pride and put in effort.  If they do that you can accept not winning.  Hardly anyone did that in the first half and to me that isnt acceptable.  Our home form should be far better . I   know we have lost important players to injury James Wilson, Mitch Clarke Ollie and Funso, quality and experience are essential . There was a player in our team today who didnt tackle or pass or even make a contribution, who may think he is better than he is. I'm not naming any names. The transformation after half time was there for all to see.  But why do we think we cannot beat teams in the top 7 or 8, we won 2-0 second half, so why not show that attitude from the start, its bizarre. Do we have  an inferiority complex? We shouldn't do .. Burton beat Blackpool today.  I expect us to show a lot more than we did today in the first half, on Friday.  Fans will accept defeat if they see their team trying, look at the transformation in the crowd during the second half.  Give the fans some effort and they will back you! Well done James Sharrock on your goal and class from James Wilson linking with Chizzy and Ben Lomax on the other side.
