[Bolton (A) match thread - 20th April]

Yes it's quite apt that we are playing at the Toughsheet Stadium in Bolton .Tomorrow should finally be it and we have the dreaded R by Port Vale . So 20/04/2024 is Bolton day or B-day but is actually Bidet as that's where we are going .

[League one relegation watch]

Vale have just signed a left-back named Deklan Wynne who is 29 and a Kiwi . We could certainly do with a win .

[Why???]

This coming Saturday will be my 6th home game that I will avoid despite having a season ticket and paid car park permit . The insult to 85% of Vale supporters polled is no understanding of how we feel about clearly seeing a club destroying itself due to the DOF . I even declined the I-Follow option for the Orient game .When we get relegated what will be the plan for recruiting players . Will it still be non manager picks having to be played by a blameless manager who walked into a nightmare situation . Completely , upset by the football lack of signings and weakening of our team but how do we register our total disgust . Should things not have changed by the start of next season I will not be there .

[Season ticket renewals]

With regret and guilt I have not been to Vale at home for 5 games . I have a season ticket and a car park permit but the football no longer gives me any enjoyment . Firstly ,we have a play it out from the back mentality that goes sideways and backwards when a forward pass is not taken because all the player wants to do is pass the responsibility to another player 5 yards away .This is supposed to be the modern way of football but countless goals are given away because the players cannot play this way because they are pressured into making mistakes and stupid goals are given away ---it is laughable and self defeating knocking confidence . I have made my mind up about not buying a season ticket and not buying a car park permit for next season in league 2.. The only way for me to come back into the fold is for the DOF to depart and the manager be allowed to sign his own players .We have seen the playing talent reduced and now the full horror of self inflicted relegation is here . Two fit strikers was and still is at the very least we needed but if the excuse is no money then we should be looking at non league talent--a process that we have enjoyed in the past .Putting out a coulda ,shoulda , woulda  statement lines up with the dog ate my homework excuse that  Vale fans will not take to . The self made DOF is responsible for recruitment and non recruitment lies solely at his door which he should shut on his way out of the club .

Carol cannot keep on giving him chances after every failed transfer window weakens the team resulting in relegation .The  fans who know something about football have been shouting " iceberg " for every chance to avoid this situation . We do not need another blank transfer window or we are going to struggle in league 2 . So Carol you have the choice of supporters or your DOF --- the two cannot co-exist .

We had a flair player David  Worrall let go who gave some entertainment and exciting wing play a reminder of Guppy , Ainsworth and McCarthy days when entertainment was a high part of Vale success  .You would not expect these players to pass 5 yards sideways -these wanted to entertain .Yes , these days are gone but where is same positive forward play with a striker scoring after good  movement . The writlng was on the wall with the 7 nil wake up call from day one .

Best of luck to Darren Moore who has walked into a nightmare . He is not responsible and if allowed to sign his own players may not prove terminal to Vale . The DOF or Definition of Failure must not get in the way of rebuilding next season .

 

[David Flitcroft Out]

I am now resigned to being League 2 ready . Yes , I am angry with over 80% of vale supporters knowing what is wrong at our club,  but being taken for idiots and totally ignored by our Carol . The recruitment over 3 transfer windows by DF is tragic and laughable . DF was told we needed strikers but let strikers go instead --Ellis Harrison and Matty Taylor were at the club but left with no replacements . I cannot understand how Carol can write a letter in praise of kryptonite . Any other appointment would have done a better job --she completely ignores his OBVIOUS FAILURES and it is now 4 staff leaving  due to DF recruitment putting them on mission impossible . The penny will soon drop with DM --then what ?.
