What has impressed you about Moore so far? Or is it that you feel he deserves a go with his own players?

Personally I think we will struggle in league 2 and I’ve seen more than enough to convince me that he is not a step up on Crosby.

You don't like anybody so it's not really a surprise you don't like Moore either

They will still be happy and clappy when we are out of two competitions this time next week.

Some people are simply a fries short of a Happy Meal.

Are the people that are 'happy' the stupid ones or are the people that do nothing but moan about something the stupid ones?

If I hated something as much as you make out you do, I would aim to make myself happier by having nothing to do with it whatsoever

All the comments about value not withstanding, I really don't see why we should be asked to pay a subscription for club news - about a local team - from a local paper.

All the best to MB but I refuse to pay for something that should be offered by the Sentinel already. Absolutely crazy, and I won't give them anything for what they should be delivering already.

Did you pay for a newspaper before the invention of online news articles?

My worry with this is how will Vale attract future fans if they are not in the public eye. It seems to me that the sentinel are trying to erase Vale from the people of Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

Let's face it you will only sign up if you follow the Vale.

The Vale fans of the future are not reading the sentinel, actually, the people of the future aren't reading it, only the people of the past!

Really enjoyed the Pompey aftermath, especially the first 20 minutes or so. Shame they held back about the formation 😀

They held back about the formation probably because they know there is nothing wrong with the formation

Birmingham have sacked Eustace, they’re sixth in the league. Not known if it’s because he was linked with the Glasgow Rangers vacancy or new American owners want to bring in their own manager. Rooney has left DC United.

These American owners buy these lower league clubs wanting to get them to the premier league but then sack good managers and bring in 'Big Names' they then proceed to not make it to the premier league and then complain about it

  7. Congratulations Ale & Vale podcast for winning league 1 podcast of the year.

It's nice to listen to level headed Vale fans twice a week to keep myself sane after having to suffer through reading all the dross that get's put on various social media.

Well deserved lads and lasses, here's to many more awards

I'm not to a a few seconds over the alloted 6, after all, throw ins are taken feet away from where they should be and the keepers come out of the area when kicking, dont want to be too pedantic, but Burtons keeper held onto the ball while lying on the floor for more than 6 seconds and then took at least another 15 - 20 seconds to clear, that should have been penalised.

I also noticed neither team had much respect for the Ref arguing with him Conlon being subbed was one.

I don't want to be pedantic at all, but in basketball there is refs signals and a big clock counting down how long players have to do certain things and guess how many times players gain an advantage by wasting time? The answer is zero because it is impossible.

  9. In regards to the keeper timewasting or timewasting in general. I don't understand why there isn't a referee signal to count down how many seconds someone has to kick the ball.

For example, the goalkeeper is supposed to only have 6 seconds or 12 seconds or whatever, make a signal for it.

In basketball, you have 5 seconds to pass the ball in once the ref has passed you the ball, and the ref counts 5 seconds with an arm signal, not sure why a similar thing can't be implemented in football,

Sorry for above. On my fifth pint. I do dislike womens football. I think it's rubbish. But there is no reason why a qualified woman couldn't manage a professional men's team.

The NBA is probably the most 'Progressive' sports organisation in the Western world and even they haven't had a female head coach yet.

In F1 Williams had a female team principal but that was mainly only because she was the daughter of the owner and was largely terrible.

I think a female manager in men's professional football is still a long way off

Yes it was very good. Charlton review was good too. Although in hindsight a bit kind on the officials who missed two blatant red cards (for fouls on Mr Smith himself). And hinting Smithy goes down a bit too easily was a bit off. Sure the reason the ref didn't take more action after the forearm smash was because Smithy just picked himself up and got on with it.

I think they would have been harder on the officials had we lost, as it happened it didn't matter in the end

I think that the Scot Parker decision is not quite so outrageous as others think.  If you read the statement made by Bournemouth's owners, they make it clear that they need their manager to help them progress in a sustainable way.  Mr Parker, in the wake of the 9-0 defeat said on the BBC that his team are "under equipped" for the Premier League.

My interpretation of the owner's statement is that they are not at all happy with Mr Parker publicly criticising his players and the owners (which his comments suggest he was doing).

Managers need to realise that they cannot demand endless big money signings to feed their  mistakes then keep asking for more.  Bournemouth wish to be sustainable, quite right so.  I think that Mr Neill at Sunderland was trying to force the hand of the owners to open the cheque book.  He has found the right partner at Stoke, who happily throw huge sums of money at their distinctly average football team and feed the egos of their managers who splash out big transfer fees.

The BBC did a good opinion piece of Mr Parker's sacking, I think they make so important points about what has gone on here.

The thing is with Bournemouth, is that they are just not a big enough team to be sustainable in the premier league surely?

They are the smallest team in the league by a mile and are arguably smaller than 22 of the current championship teams, they have done well and are massively overachieving where they are but it can't last forever, they are a similar size club to Vale if not smaller
