This. Pitch is slippy and looks windy, hoof hoof it out instead of pissing around with it where any mistake will cause a goal. Similarly get some balls up for Garrity, Massey and Loft to try and force a mistake at the other end, they look good but in these conditions anyone can make a mistake.

What the <ovf censored> are all these no look midfield lay-offs, shades of Crosby's Vale here. Seems like the confidence from 2 wins in a row is actually working against us, they've stopped playing it simple

[Bristol Rovers (H) match thread - 29th March]

Great result yesterday, one of the things which has been mentioned but is a real shift from previously is the no-nonsense defending. So many times there were situations where a ball forward was played through by BR, an attacker would be chasing and we hoofed it off the side to safety.

Before they would let it bounce, try to get it under control and play it out, or make a risky back pass to the keeper. We conceded so many stupid goals of our own making like that (both by inviting pressure and the defenders always looked in 2 minds as to what to do). Now it seems they've changed to a simple 'if in doubt' mentality and looked solid doing it for the first time. Just hope we can keep it up!

Really don't think DM had many other options with his subs. It's not his fault we have the most unbalanced team I've seen at the Vale. Grant was woeful and I hope DM sees this and looks to find a different square peg for the left back hole but his options are dire (especially with a square peg in at right back already). Mighten could possibly single handedly drag us out of this mess when he's up to full match fitness but clearly needed a rest.

Even with our inability to score goals, I reckon we'd have had enough about us to stay up if we had more than 1 recognised (injured) actual full back in the squad.

[Barnsley (H) match thread - Boxing Day]

Sat in the Hamil, usually in the Paddock but can't for obvious reasons.

Absolute rubbish but I actually don't blame the players. Every time we have possession or a throw-in in a dangerous area, we decide against playing a risky pass to go for an attack, go backwards and end up at the keeper/full back who then ends up playing a rubbish pass under pressure from their strikers. Need a change of tactics and mentality ASAP or we're in trouble.

That being said, not happy with the fans booing Ripley and the fan having an arguement with him at the end of the half. Any League 1 keeper who was passed back to and had as much possession as him would get found out equally as much. The tactics tell the players to bass back to him as often as possible. No problem with fans showing what they think of Crosby's tactics but Ripley is one of  the few reasons we have any points this year...
