Heard all these excuses before from another esteemed manager, Jim Gannon he also blamed the players and had no idea. As for lack of quality well, they did ok at the beginning of the season and looked sharp and fit. It seems to me the one who is unfit is the manager, unfitbfor the club and the job. What is Flitcroft doing getting paid for nothing if he cannot see this. .Apart from playing wrong system for the players we have, running the players down and complaining about everything except the real problem, himself Clarke is doing a fine job. Still Mickey Adams saw something in him as he did get a few seconds on the pitch for us. Get shut now or go down!

Another Saturday, no goals and no points, have a look at Vale’s and Walsall’s stats, startlingly alike, question is are we any better off, should we have kept the faith with Askey or is our new management team going to lead us to the promised land. Another interesting question is who is influencing our owners? Let’s hope we can survive and rebuild for the future. Keep the faith !!!

With reference to the 1983-84 Vale side, I think that side was a good team and produced mid table form in League 1 after John Rudge took over from John McGrath just before Christmas. Sidall, Tartt Bromage Hunter Sproson Cegielski at the back and Steve Fox Eamon O’Keefe and a young Mark Bright up front. Once the manager changed the results improved massively. In the present situation there seems little mileage in repeating the players failings as whatever confidence is left will soon totally disappear. The players need as much encouragement as possible.

We have suffered from a lack of a proven striker for several seasons now . Tom Pope bless him cannot carry on till he is 73 . A lack of a cutting edge means goals and points go begging. We need a performance on the pitch –after watching the subs come on against Bolton I never saw them again .They must make something happen on the pitch and not just vanish .

I’m sorry but this new manager reminds me so much of Lee Sinnot… Good on paper… Good soundbites but no tactical substance… 5 changes 4 subs
4 changes 3 subs…. All good managers seem to have a core playing formation with core players…. No change change change…. Vale fan for 60 years with currently the most lack of optimism ever.

We were warned and thought it was Walsall fans on the wind up
Perhaps not it seems they were right he is knocking the last bit of confidence out of the team and he is going to be here next season not matter what division Vale are in

If vale wanted a manager to take them down to the National League I would have done it for nothing. Save Carol and Kevin some money. Another goalless weekend, isn’t it toss. Thanks again team for another sh.. weekend. Had they had a rugby match on the pitch before kick-off?

I think that the players themselves have got to get a grip. Most of the recent goals scored against Vale were preventable with players looking at each other as though they didn’t know what to do.

Come on lads you were alright earlier in the season. I can remember some pundits saying that Smithy and Leggy were the best centre back pair in League 2. The best way to show Darrell Clarke how good they are is by stopping the preventable goals and getting a favourable result.

Also, something has happened to Jake Taylor since he signed for Vale. On loan he was a stand out player with plenty of class but he has looked very ordinary in recent times. I would like my Saturdays and Tuesday nights to be much happier than they are at present. Come lads make it happen.

We don’t look like scoring a goal and the only player with any goal scoring pedigree is Cullen and he doesn’t get a game? He has had injuries but he is a player who has scored goals in the past. Play him!

Worrying times at the minute! I’ve never felt this bad being a vale fan since my first game against arsenal in 98. And there’s been some bad times since then need Pope back ASAP as he’s the only reliable striker we have! Give Campbell Gordon a run out… the youth players have a point to prove! Full of energy & hopefully fight! Come on vale let’s get a win on the board ffs
