Port Vale sign Ricky Miller: about the striker
The 29 year-old has had a long and varied career in league and non-league football.
He began his career in the Charlton youth academy before joining Woking. After spells with numerous non-league sides a successful spell at Boston United saw him signed by Luton Town but the move was not a success. He dropped back into non-league and signed for Dover Athletic.
He rose to prominence again with 72 goals in 110 appearances for Dover. He was named as the National League Player of the Year for 2016–17 and his form prompted Peterborough to sign him in 2017.
Off the field, Miller’s life has not been without controversy. He has been convicted of drink driving twice and this year he was handed a 42 month driving ban after failing to provide a blood sample.
Most recently, he had a spell on loan with Mansfield Town towards the latter stages of last season.
