Theo Robinson aims to follow in the footsteps of another former Port Vale striker, Alex Jones, and make the Valiants suffer on Saturday.
Robinson had a short spell with Port Vale last season but he was released after a spell of just two goals in 14 games.
After a prolific and headline-grabbing spell for Lincoln City, Robinson is back in the Football League with Saturday’s opponents Southend United.
He told the Southend Echo: “Port Vale released me last season so I would love to get one back on them. These things happen in football but this is a big game for us because we want to get back into the play-offs.”
