Tearful Foyle Overwhelmed By Fans’ Ovation

Port Vale supporters gave new manager Martin Foyle a tremendous reception ahead of the Oldham game.
Foyle, who has been at the club for twelve years, was overwhelmed with the ovation and confessed that it did bring a “tear to the eye.”

Foyle who had only taken over in his “dream job” 24 hours earlier, oversaw a 1-0 victory for the Valiants.

Talking to BBC Radio Stoke’s Phil Bowers after the game, Foyle explained his emotions at being the new Vale boss saying it had been a “hectic two days.”

Referring to the fans’ tribute, the former Vale striker exclaimed “Funny enough, it brough a tear to my eye… Little things like that go a long way and that’s why people like loyalty.”

Foyle also paid tribute to his players. Talking about the recalled Ryan Brown the manager said: “I thought he did really well… I rate him highly.”

Foyle also praised goal hero Steve McPhee claiming the striker was “on fire” and “a super boy to work with. The world’s is at his feet.”
