Michael O’Connor’s injury picked up during the friendly match with Bolton is not as bad as first feared.
An article on the official Port Vale website noted that: “The club can confirm the injury is not as serious as first feared although a timescale cannot be placed on the 27-year-old’s return as of yet.”
O’Connor was sent for scans after being forced to leave the pitch just five minutes into Wednesday’s friendly match.
The news is a boost for Vale who will be missing consistent goalkeeper Chris Neal for the start of the season.
