Irish forward Ruari Paton has become the second transfer listed Port Vale player to leave the club this week.
Following the departure of Jordan Shipley to Cheltenham, Paton has completed his expected move to Scottish club St Johnstone. The Scots have paid an undisclosed fee for the forward.
Paton had a successful loan spell with St Johnstone during the second-half of last season. It culminated with the club winning promotion and Paton playing his part with five goals including a header which decided promotion. However, the striker is not part of Port Vale manager Jon Brady’s plans with the 25 year-old one of four players transfer listed at the end of the season.

The Irish striker was signed for a reported six figure sum from Scottish club Queens Park in the summer of 2024. He failed to nail down a regular starting spot in his first season and was sent on loan to Dundee United in January.
In his second season with the club he again failed to secure regular football and was sent on loan to St Johnstone in February.
During his time with the Valiants the popular Irishman had a record of 46 appearances and nine goals for the club.
