(Better late than never, we missed this announcement due to family commitments) Port Vale have announced that goalkeeper Jackson Smith as their second signing of the transfer window.
Smith joins Jasper Moon as a new addition to Jon Brady’s Port Vale squad.
The 24 year-old goalkeeper joins on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Smith had a successful loan spell with Grimsby Town last season with Town making a bid for the keeper but he has opted for Vale Park.
Smith, who stands six foot two inches tall, began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers and has made Football League appearances for Walsall and Grimsby.
Manager Jon Brady commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jackson to Vale Park, he is a player who has already gained valuable experience at this level and has proven he has what it takes to provide a steady and reassuring presence at the back.
“After speaking to him, it is clear that despite his already fantastic attributes, he is hungry to learn and improve and I’m looking forward to working with him. Everyone at the club would like to welcome Jackson to Vale Park and wish him every success in black and white.”
