Port Vale have been boosted by the news that club captain Ben Garrity has agreed a new two year contract.
Keeping Ben at the football club was a huge priority for us this summer. He represents everything we want Port Vale to be about: leadership, honesty, integrity and complete commitment to the shirt every single day. Ben drives standards on and off the pitch. He leads through his actions, his mentality and the connection he has with the dressing room and our supporters. Those qualities are invaluable to us moving forward. He’s an important part of what we’re building here, and I know the fans will be delighted to see their captain committing his future to the club.
Manager Jon Brady on the signing
The box-to-box midfielder has been hit by injuries in recent seasons but at his best he is key part of the team providing energy, commitment and goals from midfield.
The 29 year-old has made 198 appearances for the Valiants since joining from Blackpool in 2021. Twice the club’s player of the year he has also played his part in two promotion campaigns.
The news of the new deal marks the first transfer news from the club since the retained list was announced.

Excellent news. Opportunity to regain full fitness close season.
I don’t think this is good for Vale, Garrity is well past his sell by date, there is nothing in the tank, I hope I am wrong, he does not even pass the ball well anymore.
